Full-Time Positions
Job Title: Technical Writer
Days/Hours: Approx 40 hours per week, 5 day week, schedule to be arranged
Qualifications:
- Able to determine techniques, policies, and procedures for various aspects of just-in-time logistics and effectively communicate them to a multi-cultural, international audience.
- Excellent writing skills: need to clearly and concisely communicate complex techniques.
- Very detail-oriented person who can succinctly explain detailed needs to a wide variety of people.
- Bachelor’s degree required: GPA 3.0+ in English, Composition, Communications, Rhetoric, or related field.
- Some logistics background is helpful but not required.
Job Description:
- The Technical Writer learns continuously changing external and internal policies and complex processes in a dynamic environment, and documents them so that diverse groups can understand and comply with them.
- Provides technical support by producing technical documentation for internal users, customers and international suppliers on how to effectively use our customized web-based applications.
- Writes technical specifications for web interface.
- Communicates in writing with various government agencies, such as U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and U.S. Department of Homeland Security, in the course of our import and export operations.
- Knowledge of import/export or air freight operations helpful but not necessary.
- Ability to communicate in Chinese and/or Spanish is a huge plus.
